God Owns It All

Everything comes from God and is owned by God. We are completely dependent on Him. God is in complete control of our resources, which should bring us inner peace because He provides for and protects us.

Scripture references: Genesis 14:22; Exodus 19:5; 1 Chronicles 29:10-14; Psalm 24:1; Psalm 89:11; Psalm 50:12; Deuteronomy 10:14; Haggai 2:8; Colossians 1:16.

Acknowledging that God oversees our money frees us from the emotions associated with greed and allows us to be generous.

Scripture reference: 2 Corinthians 3:17.

God Gives It All

He is the source of all we have.

Scripture reference: John 3:27.

All blessings, profits, wealth, gifts, and gains come from God.

Scripture references: Genesis 22:10-18; Exodus 31:3-6; Exodus 13:21-22; Deuteronomy 8:18; John 3:27; 1 Chronicles 29:12, 14; James 1:17; Psalm 16:5; Isaiah 48:17.

We can fully trust and rely on God, never fearing that we won’t have enough because He promises to supply all our needs and enough to share with others.

Scripture references: Matthew 6:31-33; Luke 12:33-32; Philippians 4:19; 2 Corinthians 9:8-10.

We (Believers) are Stewards

God blessed man and commanded us to be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over everything on earth. God gave us rulership, not ownership!

Scripture references: Genesis 1:26-31; Psalm 8:6.

God has blessed us with the authority to be the caretakers and faithful stewards of whatever He has entrusted to us, including our time, gifts, talents, skills, relationships, vocations, and money.

Scripture reference: Deuteronomy 8:18.

We are accountable to God, and our role is to responsibly manage His possessions and resources for His purposes.

Scripture references: Luke 12:42-48; 1 Corinthians 4:2; 1 Timothy 6:7.

God Has a Purpose and Plan

God has a purpose for His people. He created us, prepared work for us, and equipped us with spiritual gifts to accomplish His plan for our lives.

Scripture references: Ephesians 2:10; Romans 8:28-31; 2 Timothy 1:8-9; 1 Corinthians 2:9; Isaiah 26:12; Isaiah 30:1-2; Job 42:2; Jeremiah 29:11.

Give It Back to God

Surrender: To be a disciple, we must lose our life to find it.

Scripture reference: Luke 9:23-24.

Giving: God commands that we return to Him a portion of what He has given us and that we give Him the first of our fruits.

Scripture references: Luke 12:15-21; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 1 Timothy 6:17-18; Deuteronomy 16:17; Proverbs 3:9-10.

Advancing His Kingdom: God calls us to build His Kingdom, not our own.

God is Glorified, Not Man

We must be humble and do what brings honor and glory to God. He will ultimately receive all glory unto Himself.

Scripture references: 1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 3:17, 23-24; 1 Peter 4:11; 1 Peter 5:11.
